DR JEKYLL and MR HYDE

     This time I read "DR JEKYLL and MR HYDE", written by R.L. Stevenson. This title is also famous in Japan but I've never read, so I chose to read.
   
     Mr. Utterson is a lawyer who was a man of cold and few words. Yet somehow he is lovable and there was something kind in his eyes. One of his few friends is Mr. Richard Enfield who is Utterson's distant cousin and a young man enjoying the pleasure of life. Somehow they like each other.
     One day, on their walk in a small street in London, Looking at a tall, dark and sinister building with no windows, Enfield reminds a very strange story...

     In this book, the more story develops, the deeper mystery, fear and the ominous get. Dr. Jekyll who is in the heart of this mystery has a desire, which I sympathized with a little.

     This book's story processing is very prominent, so I recommend it!!

Vanity Fair

     This time I read "Vanity Fair". The writer is William Makepeace Thackeray(1811~1863).  He is one of the representative novelists in the Victorian era. This story is set in 19th century London. Using sarcastic and humorous words, he criticized people who live in the rich and aim at the upper class.

     In this novel, many characters appear, so it's hard to memorize all the member's names. However, the story goes while bringing Becky Sharp (Rebecca) into focus. She was born in the poor and tries to advance to the upper class with her inborn beauty and talent. In spite of her character that is liar and greedy, most people are easily deceived due to her excellent act.

"His bulk caused Joseph much anxious thought and alarm"
     Joseph is a plump man and worries about it very much. However, he can't put it down.

""The children must have someone with them," cried Mrs. Sedly.
"Let Joe go," said his father laughing,”
      It's a scene that one person suggests to go to a park. Joseph's father makes fun of him and as I wrote, Joseph cares it terribly.                                                 
"Like many wealthy people, it was Miss Crawley's habit to accept as much service as she could get from her inferious"     
     Miss Crawley is a very rich old woman, and she is too ungrateful to leave others when she founds them useful.

 This time, I read 'Looking after Pip'. Pip is a baby of a family. One day, he didn't stop crying at all. His brother and sister tries to stop but they couldn't. Then the sister remembered that he loves going to park. So they take him there.....

This time, I read these five books continuously. Especially, last two stories were very impressive. Mouse tries many means to solve his problem by himself. I respect such his such attitude.

"A tropical rainforest is a forest of tall trees

that's warm all year.

It's called a rainforest because it usually rains every day."

This time,  I read 'Life in Rainforests'. This book explains the location, animals, geography and so on. In this book, I'm surprised at the existence of a mantis that mimics white flour. That was so beautiful:)

MY BOOK REVIEW 19

"Water is all around us.

We have liquid water in rivers and  oceans.

We have frozen water in ice and glaciers,

and we have water vapor in clouds and steam."

This time, I read 'Wonderful Water'. This book shows how much water exist, how water circulate and the percentage of fresh water and dead sea. This is so interesting to me.

This time, I read 'Incredible Earth'. This book tells how various this world is. I'm surprised at that there are many wonderful places I didn't know around the world. I like this book.

Today I read 'Sound And Music'. In this book, the mechanism that sound is made and how we make sound through lip and instruments. As we know, sound is vibration in the air. In our body, sound is made in throat. About instruments, they make the sound made in player's lip loud and release it. I once belonged in brassband club, so this was interesting to me.

This time I read 'Taming Tessa'. This seems to be the continuation of 'Ben and the Ghost'. Two children, Ben and Tessa, grew big and now Ben finds difficult to live with Tessa because she always makes noises and leave room without cleaning.Her brother Ben is getting worried about it...

Today I read 'chicken little', the book of Disney. Chicken little is a movie produced by Disney on 2005. However I knew that movie, I didn't know its contents. This story is similar to The Boy Who Cried Wolf. I like it:)
